The 2006 Spanking Writers Awards – winners unveiled

The New Year has come; the festivities are wrapping up; the sugar rush is beginning to wear off. Thus it’s time for us to look back at the year that was.

Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you…

The inaugral Spanking Writers awards: our festive round-up of our personal 2006 favourites.

Spanking Novel of the Year. Easy, that. Fiona Locke wins hands down – an appropriate position for a girl “Over The Knee”.

Spanking Video of the Year. Perish the thought that we would ever watch pornographic filth. If we did, we’d undoubtedly vote for “Trouble in Carson’s Gap” by Spanking Epics: a tale of country sherrifs, fake nuns and previous lives. With lots of spanking, naturally.

Hot Mainstream DVD of the Year. V for Vendetta. No actual spanking scene, but lots of hot kinky overtones.

Spanko Shop of the Year. Ooooo, a tough one… but the marvellous Coco de Mer is always such a pleasure, and Haron’s new handcuffs are just so lovely.

Abel’s Award for Haron’s Post of the Year. A Licking For a Licking.

Haron’s Award for Abel’s Post of the Year. The 19th Century Blogger.

Spanko Event of the Year. Well, we didn’t get to go to all of them (hey, invitations always welcome!) but of the ones we did attend, Lord Fawcett’s Regency House Party wins by a mile. (Fantastic organisation, and one of the most special weekends of our lives. One of our fellow guests wrote a great report of the event in Captain Farthingdale’s Diary. Note: it’s quite explicit, and therefore is not for the easily shocked.)

Most Spankable Celebrity of the Year. In our minds Billie Piper has overshadowed them all.

Spanking Blog of the Year. A tough one, this, as blogs vary so much. We have to go with My Bottom Smarts.

Spanking Forum of the Year. Spanking Facts and Research – a gold mine of spanking-related information you didn’t know you wanted to find out.

Spanking Site of the Year. For beautiful design, nothing can rival Niki Flynn’s new site. Just gorgeous, quite like Ms Flynn herself.

Erotic Site of the Year. As obsessed with spanking as we are, sometimes we peek into other areas of sexuality as well. On those occassions nothing gives us an erotic jolt quite like ErosBlog, with its exploration of humans as sexual beings.

So, this is it for the year. We hope you like our selection – and extend our thanks to those responsible for the winners, for bringing us so much pleasure in the past year.

I loved the link to Coco de Mer, I didn’t know it existed. Thank you!

(Amazing, I’ve been reading your blog for several months – not nearly long enough – and just realized you were into handcuffs and all. Your blog is incredibly discreet.)

Wow! A mention in the Spanking review of the year! I’m chuffed! Thanks both, and I hope to see you both again soon.

Thanks for all the good info here – I’m sure there are lots of treats in store, but at the moment my only reaction is to worry. My gorgeous, soft and kind boy, the one who thinks his own thoughts, and is just a little mysterious, is just crazy about ‘V for Vendetta’. I have no issue with your kinks, am finally in touch with my own, but my baby boy; now that’s another story……

    Abel and Haron,

Thank you! Spanking blog of the year? Wow. I hardly know what to say. Your award truly means lot to me.

I’m grateful for our generous spanko community. Without the ongoing support of my wonderful colleagues and readers, there could be no MBS blog.

    Hugs,
    Bonnie

Amber – we are quite restrained in what we write about some things, you know!

Rob – ROFL, you sound quite surprised by Captain Farthindale’s report! (It was so well written that we didn’t write up our own comments – he’d done it so well that there was nothing left to say. Well, nothing fit for print, anyway!)

And to those of you who were mentioned in the awards – just our little way of saying thank you for the undoubted pleasure you’ve brought us during the year :-)

Abel: Not surprised actually, but utterly titillated. Haven’t had much sleep since!

Wow! Trouble in Carson’s Gap is the best spanking video of the year? I had no idea, until a friend pointed this out to me. I’m sure everyone involved in this video is thrilled — I know I am! Thanks. :-)
