You may be slightly weary of us going on and on and on about the kinky content of Doctor Who. However, when I’m not working, that’s the sort of thing I read online these days, and I can’t help running into all sorts of spanking references.*
From an interview with John Barrowman (SPOILERS for the end of Series 3 of Doctor Who and Series 2 of Torchwood):
Q.: [Discussing the differences in acting opposite Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant]
You got to kiss [Eccleston], though. Do you get to kiss David in the new series?
A.: Well, if I told you that I would be breaking protocol wouldn’t I? Russell would probably slap my wrist – or my ass!
Oh, yes, please! I’ll have the spoiler, and then I’ll have the footage of the spanking the beautiful, beautiful John Barrowman gets from his producer. Who is not as beautiful, but looks like he would give a good spanking.

Beginning to think I’m the only person in the UK who doesn’t give a FF about Dr Who! Having said that, I still recorded the 2-parter (out both Saturdays concerned) purely on the basis of that photo of David Tennant with the cane, which was in my TV guide as well as being so considerately picked up by Haron! Can anyone tell me if I need to bother keeping part 2 as well as part 1 to watch please? Given that I’ve no interest other than the schooly stuff!

Minxette – I’m sure you’re not the only one… To my regret, not every spanko is a geek like me. As for the second part – there’s a funny-creepy mention of a caning there as well, plus some creative “punishments” the Doctor devises for the baddies. I thought those bits were astonishingly hot, and have watched the sequence about ten times now, but it may be not explicitly kinky enough for a non-Whovian. I can show you just what I consider the “good bits” next time I see you, if you like

Minxette: Well, you can take my advice with a grain of salt — I not only own the first seasons on DVD, but do the BitTorrent thing to watch the new ones without having to wait for their release in the States. That said, I think it’s worth watching if you like images that could work well in roleplay. The 1913 costumes and school setting are lovely and, while the best of the cane images are in the first episode, there is a lovely moment in the second where the headmaster threatens everyone (which oddly could have been read to include David Tennant) with “punishments” if they can’t explain what they’re doing.
Haron: You’ll never be too geeky for me. But then I sometimes suspect I’m really a 12 year old boy.

Mija – ORLY? What if I say I’ve just downloaded about 8 hours’ worth of Doctor Who podcast to listen in the gym? *big geeky grin* (In fairness, though, I’ve only discovered the podcast today, which is a bit late for a proper geek, really.)

I’m with you, Minxette. The occasional dalek’s fine by me, but some people seem to be scarily addicted! That said, I’m hoping Haron still has her stash of illict downloads so I can watch the school episode when I get home!
(Pauses and thinks… What if the original creators of Doctor Who had written a slightly different script, and daleks had roamed the universe screeching, say, “SPANK HARD” rather than “EX-TER-MI-NATE”…?)

Honestly, Haron. I think it’s that egg beater you should be worrying about.
As to the geek thing, granted it belongs to Paul, but we have a remote control one sitting in the living room. It occasionally threatens to exterminate the dishwasher.
