There’s no actual spanking here, and I’m kinda glad about that. But I could still find inspiration in this story from the Sunday Times:
A mother has confiscated her son’s door keys, cut off his allowance and taken him to the police station for staying out late. And never mind that her son is 61 years old. “My son does not respect me,” complained the mother from Caltagirone, Sicily. “He doesn’t tell me where he’s going in the evenings and returns home late. This can’t go on.” According to La Sicilia newspaper, the son told police his mother didn’t give him enough pocket money and was a poor cook.
And I thought my arguments with my mum were going on for a bit too long…

Just proof that you never grow up in the eyes of your parents… I was shocked when you said you were glad there’s no spanking… after reading it though I have to agree! Though I think that would have kept me giggling all day… in fact I think the thought of it might anyway.
That is funny. Two things amuse me about this. Firstly, the fact that its in Sicily; its not as though the police have much to deal with there. It would be great if he was some Mafioso, but he has to keep it secret from his mamma, because he knows she will be real mad if she found out about that. He’s late home after a couple of heists.
Second, there is this image of Italian guys that they don’t leave mamma till they have too, and its partly down to the cooking. He’s waited 61 years to start complaining.
