Well first and foremost, Happy Birthday greetings to Haron and Martha, and I hope you had a truly splendid dinner together. But now I have to say, you almost had me Abel. I actually thought…well you know what I actually thought…and I could hardly believe it..

I do feel slightly sorry for you. My husband complains of this also, and he insists on sympathy, so I suppose you can too….but perhaps when your birthday comes around….and it IS a big one, dear boy…. (mumblemumble…where’sherhusbandrightnow shecoulddowithaspankingaboutnow mumblemumblehesays..)

You poor, poor man, Abel. I admire your dedication to duty, despite the pain.

And the mail strike buggered up my birthday-card-sending plans – but they’re here now, so I shall pass them on to Martha on Monday – I think she may be seeing Haron again before I do.

But belated Happy Birthday to both lovely ladies!

And chin up, Abel. You’ve got a year to recover before the next one.
