Abel, I believe the bar my dad got IDd in was in deepest Georgia. Maybe you should try there?! Of course, the novelty might wear off if they are also IDing the 60 year old sitting on the next table.

It’s an event when I *don’t* get ID’d and it’s not fun at all. Hmph. I’m going no-where near the US for the next three years.

Simon, my dad got asked for ID in the US when he was 49… and bless him, his didn’t look at day over 45. I think some bars in the US just ask everyone.

If only it was an airport!

First time was in a bar/restaurant just across the road from the hotel. I wouldn’t mind, except I’ve been going there for TWELVE years.

Second time was at a restaurant where I was there to pick up the bill for twenty customers. I nearly said ‘well if I’m not old enough to have a beer, I’m clearly not old enough to pay the bill…’

I still get asked if I’m a student when I work on airplanes. I’m finally old enough that I’d probably get upset if they quit asking, though. After all, I’m a bit miffed that I haven’t been asked for ID in a liquor store since I was double the legal drinking age.
