This is very close to a fantasy that's been swirling in my head recently. Although in my version the Duchess is made to punish the maid in front of the stern Duke, with his promise to repeat the punishment himself if she isn't thorough enough. And instead of sending the original miscreant off before her own thrashing, she suffers the embarrassment of having it be witnessed. No, this isn't really helping to convince me to get *out* of bed this morning... Lovely. This is very close to a fantasy that’s been swirling in my head recently.
