Happy birthday to us,

Happy birthday to us,

Happy birthday dear u-us,

Happy birthday to us.

OK, we’re celebrating a little prematurely: the fifth birthday of The Spanking Writers isn’t actually until Tuesday. But we’re incredible proud of nearing five years of daily posts, and today’s the day we’ll be partying.

We like to hope we’ve entertained, amused, even inspired over these 2000-odd posts. The blog’s certainly helped us to meet some of the most wonderful people imaginable.

In return, we want to thank our readers so very, very much – your (nearly 11,000) comments, your kind words, your emails, your friendship are more important to us than you can possibly imagine.

If you’re coming along later to help us celebrate, we so look forward to seeing you. We can’t promise, mind, not to get a tad emotional at the number of you who are travelling to be with us, many from far afield. And for those of you who can’t join us, due to geography or other commitments or to not (yet?) knowing us in real-life, we send our heartfelt thanks for your loyal support.

Postscript from Abel: because I’m the one actually posting this entry to the site, I want to sneak in a personal note of thanks to Haron. “The Spanking Writers” was her idea; she provides the technical brains behind it; she does all of the hard work to keep the site running; her posts never cease to make me smile and to turn me on. I merely contribute. To my darling wife, my utmost respect, gratitude and love: you have created something very special here, and you should be truly proud of yourself.
