Hope in my heart

To those of you who celebrate it today: merry Christmas!

Some of you won’t be celebrating: I understand that. It’s not a relevant festival for everyone. And for many, it’s a time for sad memories to come to the fore. But I hope a fair number of you out there are intent on having a wonderful day.

I’ve been rather hooked these past few days on this gorgeous Christmassy song by Editors / Razorlight side-project Smith & Burrows, called “When the Thames Froze”:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=644U-jMpDUw

To quote its lyrics:

Another year draws to its close, entire London slows

When I dream tonight, I’ll dream of you

..

So tell everyone that there’s hope in your heart

Tell everyone or it will tear you apart

The end of Christmas day, when there’s nothing left to say

The years go by so fast, let’s hope the next beats the last.

And there is hope, for me personally. It’s been a year of downs and ups – but this year did undoubtedly beat the last. The last two, in fact, not that that was in the least difficult.

So much in my life feels better as we near the end of 2013 than it did at its start. And that is, in no small part, to the support that a number of you here have provided – and I am eternally grateful for that. You know who you are. And you know how much your kindness has meant to me when I’ve leant on you through some of the darker times that I hope are now behind me. (If you’re reading this wondering if I mean you, that’s undoubtedly a sign that I do). To you in particularly, merry Christmas – and the same best wishes to everyone else who takes the time to read my writing, even if I don’t have the pleasure of knowing you in person.

Happy Christmas, Abel. I’m glad you are feeling more optimistic about the future and and look back on the past year with pleasure.

    Hugs,

    Dear Abel,
Was trying to think of a “thank you” for your pdf book gift – and I found this site, which, if you don’t know of it, might contain a story or two that appeals to you. Most of the e-books are for sale of course, but there are a huge number of free ones, and a lot of them are erotic and bdsm…
(if you can’t read or convert epub let me know)
