We have very nearly missed our first bloggerversary.* To celebrate, we present to you a collection of links to the posts we’ve been most proud of in the last few months. (See previous ‘Best Of’ lists here and here.)

I invite you people to check out the newly launched Lowewood Academy Blog: a group writing project, set in a shared world of a strict British boarding school. The blog is pure fiction and nothing but fiction, and consists of entries posted by pupils and teachers of the school in their personal blogs.

It’s been set up by our friend Rapunzel, who has convinced several friends to join in the writing, including yours truly. She promised us -

Spanking, cold showers, games, short skirts, gorgeous girls, illicit drinking, evil Masters, sneaking out of school, leather straps, vigilant teachers, Lochgelly tawses, sweets, handsome and horny guys, girly gossip, standing in the corner, stockings, medical examinations, sadistic prefects and of course, the dreaded cane

- and we followed her like so many rats summoned by the Pied Piper. We’ve been blogging in secret for a couple of months, and now it’s time for Lowewood to be open for readers.

It’s said that once you’ve participated in one blog, you can’t stop joining more. This has proved alarmingly true in my case, and I refuse to admit I have a blogging problem. Abel is far too busy to succumb to this temptation, but he might arrive at the school with an inspection at some point.

Of course, the character I write for in this saga is not called Haron - the naughty girl is nothing like me. People who know me will have no trouble guessing which of the pupils I play in Lowewood. The first person who can say who I am, and tell me how they’ve figured out what name I’m using, gets a big virtual hug.

EDIT: You can stop guessing now - it’s Sylvie. The virtual hug goes to my friend Dirk, who identified me in an email within about five seconds - but then, he knows that my favourite book in English is “Little, Big” by John Crowley, whence I borrowed the name.

Just after we loaded up our 100th entry, we realised that this made quite a few posts to wade through, so we compiled a “best-of” list, to make it easier for new readers to find out what we’re about.

Well, what do you know - some time over the holidays we’ve written our 300th post, and also received our 1000th comment, and so we thought it was time for an updated list of favourites.

Thus, behold our list (which we have again avoided calling ‘Six of the Best’, because we’re just that subtle; but look - it has six entries):

A Celebratory Caning - in which Haron submits her PhD, and submits to a caning from three people, who help her celebrate this milestone in style.

Recipe: Toasted Hands - in which Abel is a celebrity chef wannabe, and Haron’s hands are toast.

Football and Canes - in which a picture clipped from the newspaper shows just what referees should to to naughty footballers.

The Punishment Book Once More (a spanking story, sort of) - in which Abel starts off daydreaming, and ends up writing a spanking story.

My Kinda Beer - in which Canadian brewers are into spanking.

Top 5 Arguments For and Against the Slipper - in which Haron describes her complex relationship with the slipper as an instrument of discipline.

This isn’t to say that you should ignore all the other entries, of course: we spend quite a lot of time avoiding work writing them, and think they’re all quite good.

The New Year has come; the festivities are wrapping up; the sugar rush is beginning to wear off. Thus it’s time for us to look back at the year that was.

Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you…

The inaugral Spanking Writers awards: our festive round-up of our personal 2006 favourites.

Spanking Novel of the Year. Easy, that. Fiona Locke wins hands down - an appropriate position for a girl “Over The Knee”.

Spanking Video of the Year. Perish the thought that we would ever watch pornographic filth. If we did, we’d undoubtedly vote for “Trouble in Carson’s Gap” by Spanking Epics: a tale of country sherrifs, fake nuns and previous lives. With lots of spanking, naturally.

Hot Mainstream DVD of the Year. V for Vendetta. No actual spanking scene, but lots of hot kinky overtones.

Spanko Shop of the Year. Ooooo, a tough one… but the marvellous Coco de Mer is always such a pleasure, and Haron’s new handcuffs are just so lovely.

Spanko Event of the Year. Well, we didn’t get to go to all of them (hey, invitations always welcome!) but of the ones we did attend, Lord Fawcett’s Regency House Party wins by a mile. (Fantastic organisation, and one of the most special weekends of our lives. One of our fellow guests wrote a great report of the event in Captain Farthingdale’s Diary. Note: it’s quite explicit, and therefore is not for the easily shocked.)

Most Spankable Celebrity of the Year. In our minds Billie Piper has overshadowed them all.

Spanking Blog of the Year. A tough one, this, as blogs vary so much. We have to go with My Bottom Smarts.

Spanking Forum of the Year. Spanking Facts and Research - a gold mine of spanking-related information you didn’t know you wanted to find out.

Spanking Site of the Year. For beautiful design, nothing can rival Niki Flynn’s new site. Just gorgeous, quite like Ms Flynn herself.

Erotic Site of the Year. As obsessed with spanking as we are, sometimes we peek into other areas of sexuality as well. On those occassions nothing gives us an erotic jolt quite like ErosBlog, with its exploration of humans as sexual beings.

So, this is it for the year. We hope you like our selection - and extend our thanks to those responsible for the winners, for bringing us so much pleasure in the past year.

One of the things I love about Abel - and there are lots and lots of things I love about him - is that he shares my opinion that birthdays are a Big Deal.

Birthdays are to be celebrated with maximum fuss.

Birthdays are to be marked on the calendar with big fat exclamation marks.

Birthdays are to be marked on girls’ bottoms with… Ouch! when this birthday spanking is over, I may not be too keen on celebrations any more.

But that’s OK, because birthday boys are to be indulged, pampered and generally spoiled.

You may have noticed that we’re forever coming across things that spark our pervy interest. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we’ve now pulled some of these together onto our very own Amazon bookstore. Kinky things for kinky people, as it were. Head on over and have a look!

It’s that time of year that I look forward to most of all. The one day that Haron can’t escape a spanking. Yes, it’s her birthday.

We’re off for a pervy day out to Hay-on-Wye , home to 30+ used bookstores. Hours of fun amongst the fiction, biography, history and education sections looms in happy prospect.

I have been doing some housekeeping around the blog, so you may notice a few changes.

Firstly, there are some new links. We’ve recently added:

Secondly, several people have written to us asking where they can read our stories. I distinctly remembered putting a link to them on the blog when I was building it, but apparently, the link got buried in the depth of the sidebar. I’ve moved it to a more prominent position, but meanwhile, to save you clicking, here’s a quote from that page:

Both of us write lots of spanking stories. We’ll be publishing these (free) on this site soon. In the meantime, you can read some of Abel’s stories here, and some of Haron’s here.

Oh yeah, that new story site where all of our spanking stories are going? It’s on the way. Seriously. It’s only been three years since I’ve started building it. For those of you who were worried that after my thesis was finished Abel wouldn’t have anything to punish me for… you’re so wrong.
