This does beg the question, though, as to whether physics teachers should have been the most efficient caners. My two physics masters never used CP, so I haven’t got any data to confirm one way or the other.

With this scene firmly in mind, one of the early experiments with a girlfriend was to play with canes and a run-up was certainly one of the things we tried. I do owe the kind host of this blog that story!

When a friend was planning a run-up caning scene a few years ago, I spent some time in a lab with impact sensors and high speed video cameras plus a few canes. We established that a caner cannot administer a run-up caning with as harder stroke a stroke as they can when stationary – basic biomechanics prove this but we wanted to find out. The height of the bottom is important as they caner can’t adequately correct for angle on the move. Likewise, the stroke will, by nature, have a slicing action on the bottom and be more likely to cause surface abrasion or even a cut.

For this scene, leaving pyjama bottoms on will somewhat lessen the likelihood of damage of such abrasion and the number of strokes is not that great although it would be such a shame to stop before 6 strokes

The first one I remember was Danny and The Champion of the World, where Danny gets caned on his hands and then his father storms up to the school to have ‘words’ with the teacher.

The most descriptive bits are in ‘Boy’ = the mouse in the sweet jar, and then later describing what happened to one of his friends in the Headmaster’s study. That and the matter of fact accounts of canings from prefects – ‘four with it on, or three with it off?’

I found out about Galloping Foxley a long time later. I’m personally not convinced that a run up would result in a harder stroke – but it would make it much harder to land it accurately. I can think of a few places with enough space to try though!

Strange that a uniform robs you of your individuality and identity, and in this case, the total lack of a uniform does the same.

A young woman in this situation has clearly been stripped of everything: her identity, her money, her property, her clothes, and most especially, her dignity.

Her prior status or situation is of no consequence whatsoever. Doctor, lawyer, heiress, movie star, coed, or apple thief, she is now simply another delinquent to be showered and scrubbed. That much eye candy, forced to wash herself for the amusement of her masters, and their invited guests.

How humiliating! How degrading! How wonderful!

The young lady, used to being judged on her deportment and fashion sense, would now know the feeling of being judged soley on her bare essentials. Humiliating, yes, particularly when she saw where the gentlemen’s eyes were wandering…

She could take some cold comfort in the fact that she was but one of dozens, and that she was now literally awash in a optical treat of wet hair, pert breasts, and nicely rounded bottoms. Nothing much to distinguish her, except perhpas for the fresh red stripes accross her tight little bottom.
