I remember birthday spankings when I was in primary school, so that’s 30 years ago… I must have gone to a mean old school, we had birthday spanks, birthday pinches, and birthday bumps – getting banged onto the ground, and our playground had loose fine gravel… not nice to be bumped against!
I was very glad at the time that my birthday fell during the holidays!

Yup, St Nicholas is in December, then it’s New Year’s Eve, and only then it’s Christmas.

You know, our Orthodox stuff is the Greek one, so we have Xmas on the same day as the Catholics, so St Nicholas is tomorrow (6th).
