The Arsenal: Tawses and Straps

Abel and Haron's collection of tawses and straps - from the Spanking Writers

More of my snapshots of our toy collection. (Actually, we need a toy chest in which to store these). (Actually, we need a bigger house in which to store a toy chest!).

Fourth in from the left: my number one implement, an authentic John J. Dick “XH” tawse. Picked up in an antique shop in Scotland, for an outrageous amount of money, and worth every penny. I know a good few young ladies who would happily accidentally lose this one for me. Actually scary to think that this was used for real and on the hands, hard.

Third in from the right – the lightest-coloured one in the photo. A lovely implement made by The London Tanner. Ian is highly recommended – he makes lovely stuff, and is a pleasure to deal with. (He also made the right-hand strap, which is fantastic, albeit very heavy).
Top and bottom – both authentic school tawses purchased via eBay. Vicious little things, but somewhat antiquated, so make fewer outings these days than they would have done when they were keeping Scotland’s finest under control.

Wow! Fantastic and wonderful and just one of the best pictures ever! Made my eyes light up… sometimes I wonder if I’m a bit kinky! 😉

I love seeing the collection too – from a distance obviously 😉 “If only they could talk”, to misquote James Herriot!

Very cool picture. And I agree that The London Tanner does beautiful work in his evil workshop. He’s also beyond charming, though I have it on good authority he has very hard and heavy hands. 😉

I happened to catch that scene where Rev. Jenkins, over at the Lowewood Academy gives a girl 6 (make that 11 b/c she couldn’t hold position) of the tawse (or somesuch leather instrument of discipline). Now I’m guessing that SHE wouldn’t say, “cool picture”. It didn’t read as being a cool experience at all. Is it perhaps cool in one’s mind, as opposed to cool when it is being flung across one’s bottom by a Rev. Jenkins type I wonder…..

Wow – that’s a pretty impressive collection. The scary thing is, I think my collection probably includes many of the same WMDs.

Another questions I didn’t come around to asking – Abel, why do you need THIS many? I guess they just pile up, huh? Let’s see what I have:

4 paddles (plywood with holes, maple ruler, walnut round, and large and heavy solid oak)
    1 crop
    3 canes (1/4″ rattan, 1/2″ rattan, 1/4″ nylon)
    1 quirt
    1 rubber double strap
    J’s new work clothes belt
    1 martinet
    1 flexi-ruler
    2 tawses
    1 loopy Johnny

That’s not including non-spanking torture and restraint devices.

That’s a picture of excess, too!

Some would say that you can’t have too many toys 😉

Walnut and heavy oak paddles? Yikes – at the prospect of those even I might have to behave! I’m allergic to wood.

Such wonderfully evil implements! The tawse has always been a personal favorite of mine.

I notice though that there are some gaps in your collection. I would be more than happy to thin out my current arsenal and send something your way for the cause. They’ve been a bit neglected recently and are looking for a home where they will have more active duties than I can currently provide! 😉

Simon – one doesn’t have to use them full force, the paddles I mean – in fact, my husband, who does all the spanking and receives none, doesn’t like to use them on me because he can’t swing hard this way because it gets to be dangerous, unlike with a whippy object like a cane or a crop, which you can swing harder, and which he prefers for that reason. Anyhow, while I don’t get whacked especially hard with them, I have to say that I love the sensation that the wood provides – different wood burns slightly differently I think, too, it has to do with density I mean. I like the burn from the solid oak and the silk feel of walnut (and the look, too!), but I don’t like the holey paddle – it’s terrible, but the ruler is great.

EM, darling, keep your straps, for Heaven’s sake; I really do think we’ve got quite enough. Honestly! 😉

EM – send them to me! If nothing else, I can always have a garage sale.
