A group of off-duty cabin stewardesses from a well-known airline were waiting to board my flight home from Heathrow late the other evening. Another of their number hurried up to the gate and joined her friends.
One of the gang looked surprised to see her, asking, “Which flight did you come in you on?”
“Number 9.”
“But doesn’t that land very early in the morning?”
“Yes.”
“So why are you only getting this connection?”
Her friend blushed extremely sweetly, looking guilty. “If you don’t ask me questions, I won’t tell you lies.”
I surpressed a giggle. But here’s the question. Had she:
a) misbehaved on the flight, and spent the day being soundly punished by the captain
or
b) been shagging one of the passengers senseless all day in a nearby hotel?
I favour the former, although the broad smile on her face suggested a Virgin by employ but not by nature…
Would be lovely if it was the former but the odds are against it, although with the right person both scenarios would leave me with a broad smile upon my face
Indeed… There’s a boarding school urban ledgend (not sure how much truth there is in it,) that Richard Branson said that he would perform the opening ceremony of a new boarding house at his old school (an all girl, sixth form house,) if he was allowed to name the boarding house. He called it Virgin House.
Evie do you know if the house was actually named that in the end? And if so did they select the girls who were going into it specifically do you think…
I called my freind at Stowe, doing my homework here! She says there is no Virgin House- but I can think of all kinds of fun senarios for the entrance exam to that particular (sadly fictional) house…
I’m now wondering about the punishments for girls who had to be thrown out of said Virgin House for, ermm, no longer fulfilling the eligibility requirements.
That’s got to be a pretty awkward conversation with your house matron, “Excuse me miss.. I think I need to move boarding houses.”
… it could be a rite of passage thing, I imagine lots of girls would be more than happy to take their punishment and move on to “Experienced House” leaving Virgin House behind them, although I’m sure there would still be some who look back wistful wishing they were still there!
