Rayne sent us the picture below, which has captivated me with its mix of absurdity and harshness:
We would like to know whether the wheel stops for long enough to give a girl a batch of six strokes, or if its motion if continuous, allowing only a stroke at a time.
Abel leans towards the former. (He thinks in sixes.)
I like the latter, because a stroke at a time would allow more time on the wheel, which is a punishment in itself. Being sentenced to a half-dozen lashes would turn into a gruelling twenty minutes, whereas a dozen strokes would stretch beyond any sense of time at all.
Which do you prefer: batches or single strokes?
I agree with you – one stroke at a time is a much more appealing thought. Though it has to be said that if someone ever put me on a wheel like that, I’d be sick before the first turn was completed. Eww, forget I said that!
Definitely one stroke at a time, what’s the point of getting the wheel turning only to have to keep stopping it every few metres… it just makes no sense. If he was doing buches of six he might as well just line them up, although that way the girls don’t get hit by flying sick courtesy of Kate!
My Master points out that as the man with the whip has the lever, he can do whatever he likes, and my Master thinks this situation is a “both/and” — maybe you get your first six the long, slow, torturous way, and then a finally go-’round where you get six each…?
Zille, your Master is a dangerous man. I like him.
No wheel at all please – like Kate says, far too much chance of flying sick. A bit like Nemesis at Alton Towers.
Imagine my surprise upon stopping by just now and seeing this picture up! Wow! 😀
When I first saw it I got the idea of a kind of kinky carnival ride… Which then begs the question – what other kinds of rides would be at the carnival…??
Zille – I like your Master’s idea, too – that lever seems to leave the speed of the wheel completely up to the man, and none of the girls would really know what to expect next!
That wheel looks like it turns rather slowly and that the man could get a few strokes in every rotation.
OK, who knows how to build wheels…?
Well you were there when they were invented, Abel. Didn’t you pay attention?
Smudge: Zing!!
