Excellently written, and well read… but disturbing, and (for my tastes) raising too many uncomfortable outside issues, and too strongly rooted in something a long way away from fantasy. i can understand your pride in the story, though: A novel angle, above all, and a highly imaginative one… but I had hoped, probably unfairly, to find happiness depicted here as well.
