Last week we had quite a few guests for lunch one day. Every chair in the house was taken, and we were quite intimately squeezed around the dining-room table.
It’s not that I think of my guests as delinquents, but for some reason I imagined a long table in a reformatory canteen, where uniformed girls sit in bleak silence, eating food that looks and tastes like saw dust. On a raised dais at the end of the room, the staff eat together, keeping an eye on the room.
Suddenly one of the girls pushes her bowl away and shouts: “I’ve had enough of this! This stuff is rank! What are you lot eating up there on the high table?”
As though they’d been waiting for an excuse, the rest of the girls pick up the shout, and the whole canteen disintegrates in moments into screaming, plate-smashing chaos.
This wouldn’t last long: the staff, trained for revolts, would subdue it within minutes, after which all the girls would be locked in their dorms. There would be an urgent staff meeting, where punishment measures would be discussed.
I’m stalling here, though, because I’m not sure what punishments need to be meted out here. Would only the ring-leader be whipped, or would each girl receive some form of corporal punishment? That last one would take a lot of time, but surely, if each girl has participated in the riot, all of them need to suffer.
I just don’t know. Any ideas, anyone?
I think the little horrors should just miss a couple of meals – less glamorous than spanking, but more curative of misbehaviour! For a sexier punishment, put them to work in the kitchen, where it’s hot, so they don’t need to wear much….
Ah, the progression of the most feared staff member through each of the dormitories that night… Better yet, the girls live in a single dormitory. They’re made to stand quietly at the foot of their beds as the Warden makes her (his?) way through the room, with each girl taking her turn to turn around and bend over her bed for six with the cane. The ringleader would be skipped on the initial round, only to be summoned to the center of the room afterwards, where she would become an object lesson to discourage rebellion in the others.
Sounds like having to eat the food in the first place was punishment enough. Give them all chocolate instead of beatings!

Perhaps the ringleader could be seated at a table, and the other girls bent over it, one at a time, and thrashed while she watches, and they watch her watching. Then the staff could fasten the ringleader down, bottom bared, and leave three stout birches and the freshly punished girls in the room for half an hour, and they could all have their revenge for what she got them into.
Hmm… I can’t help but imagine the girls being forced to administer the punishment to themselves (being told to pair up and having five or six spanking episodes happening in the same room.) Being comrades they would be reluctant to spank each other at first, but perhaps the notion would start to grow on them? Oh, and the staff member, as to not be left out of the fun, could provide examples to the girls – performed on, of course, the ring leader. Sort of like a ‘repeat after me’ classroom drill, but much, much better.
