Advertising space

Britain’s top-ranked women’s beach volleyball team caused something of a stir last week by selling advertising space on the back of their bikini bottoms, according to a BBC report. Specifically:

Bath-based Zara Dampney and Shauna Mullin teamed up with a bookmaker to trial barcodes on the backs of their swimsuit bottoms in a sponsorship deal.

When the matrix barcodes are photographed with a smartphone, the user is taken to the company’s website…. The Quick Response (QR) code is part of a sponsorship deal between Dampney, 24, Mullin 26, and the betting firm Betfair.

We’re rather taken with the idea. Here, for example, is one such QR code:

Scan it with your phone, and you’ll be taken directly to www.spankingwriters.com . Just the sort of thing to mark a girl’s bottom with, methinks…

PS some of you may not be surprised to learn that I have tickets for the women’s beach volleyball at the 2012 Olympics! Fascinating sport, obviously!

As far as I’m concerned, anyone should be able to sell any product via advertising on their bums (or tits, for that matter). That’s how the Capitalist Economic System works. You post it on your eroginous zones, someone buys it.
Sounds cruel and heartless, but it makes the money go round.
I apologise for being a nasty Tory.
Incidentally – isn’t there a freedom of choice issue here?

Sorry, Mis-Spelled – Erogenous – ‘sensitive and arousing sexual feelings when touched or stroked’.
I am still, however, a nasty Tory.
