My new tawses

Last summer, I treated myself to a set of canes – all made-to-order, to my specification. And so it came to pass that I felt a set of matching tawses should join my collection.

I selected a Scottish vendor with certain historical connections – one who, given their scholastic heritage, is a tad shy of publicity from the kinky world! (Those of you sufficiently interested in the heritage of these things will no doubt know whom I mean).

I wanted four in all – two light, two heavy, with a two-tailed and a three-tailed in each. (I was keen to have the lighter ones – whippier for hands, you see). And then one especially fearsome XH may just have crept into the order too – a companion piece for the 50-odd year old strap of the same severity from the same maker that I purchased in an antiques shop years ago, which is the pride and joy of my implement collection.

They’ve not been used yet, but they’re beautifully-made. They’re about 60cm long, perfectly balanced, and range in thickness from 5mm (for the Ls) to 8mm (Hs) and 10mm for the XH. And the pillows on which they’ve been briefly tested have all been exceptionally well-behaved since…

They are beautiful. I am absolutely green with envy over the girl who gets to experience them first. Right up until you get to the extra heavy…then maybe not so much. :)

And in good news – three of them (the three-tailed L and H, and the XH) have now made their debut, and very lovely and effective they are too!
