Volunteering

A notice at a National Trust place caught my eye:

Volunteers needed

There are still a variety of positions for volunteers… Tell us what interests you most.

Really? Well, you see, it’s spanking young ladies. And so I’d like to apply for the position of Punishment Officer.

Those cute waitresses in the cafe? Woe betides them for any slow service or dropped plates. The adorable young woman behind the counter in the shop? The short change in the till would have to be dealt with at the end of the day, one stroke per penny.

School visits? They’d better be immaculately behaved, or else… Daughters accompanying their families? “We don’t tolerate that sort of behaviour here, sir. I shall need to deal with the matter, as I’m sure you understand.”

And the rather lovely, rather flirtatious Scottish guide in the drawing room? Kept behind after the other staff had left for the evening, tied to the bed once used by Queen Victoria, and whipped and ravished in a way that would make her late majesty turn in her grave…

I believe next to the Order of the Garter. The hightest ranking peerage should be the Order of the Birchrod, and Cane. And I surely wish to apply for such a position in her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee celebration. And be annointed by her, with these beautiful words. “Six of the best”. “The Very Best”.

I’m rather enjoying the thought of combining a few of your responses, and for a young lady starting work at an NT place to be handed the business card of “Dr Abel Jenkins, Punishment Officer, Member of the Order of the Birch Rod.”
