Lines, again

My recent post about lines, set my mind wandering to school settings. The head prefect, in a bad temper. speaking sternly to some poor lass who’d inadvertently crossed his path:

“You’ll write one hundred lines in your neatest handwriting:  ‘Discourteous girls deserve to be beaten hard.’ And then you’ll report to my study at 9pm sharp this evening.”

His mood would scarcely have improved by the evening. He’d take the profferred lines, observing that: “I am going to give you six hard strokes for your behaviour earlier: let me check your writing to see if you’ve earned yourself any more.”

She’d stand before him shaking, as he worked through the document: “Full-stop missing on 27. 42 not neat enough. You crossed something out on 60?”

“I made a mistake…”

“Then you should have started from line 1 again. Now… 85, 86 very untidy. You really should have taken more care. Five extra: eleven in all. Now strip and bend over and touch your toes…”

    Ohh.

    I want this.
I mean, I don’t want this, this is awful.
Or I want it because it’s awful.
    I love this post. X
