Down with the trolls!

The other day, I reposted a rather nice picture on Tumblr of a naked woman bent over clutching her ankles in a small room – probably, I guessed, a walk-in closet adjoining a bedroom. There was no room to swing the proverbial cat, although a hand spanking might have been possible. I captioned it with a rather different thought:

He had texted her on his way home. Ordered her to strip, and to wait in position in the small room off the hallway. He wouldn’t even speak to her before he used her.

I liked this. The girl waiting, anticipating. The gentleman driving, doing the same. The contrast of the act: the distance, by virtue of the silence, at the same time as the (perhaps rough and forceful) intimacy. And the hugs after: an evening curled up lovingly ahead of them.

Ah, you see, but some folks don’t get it. Here’s the charmless comment that one particular Tumblr-er posted in response:

You’re fucking gross dude, this is a human being. Remember that before your fat hands touch a keyboard again.

Actually, said writer seems to fill their time by reposting kinky images and insulting those who have commented on them. After nearly fifteen years of posting online it shouldn’t surprise me that there are trolls out there, but somehow it does. As I say in my profile, but I guess I need to re-iterate once again:

I don’t approve of abusive behaviour or of activities involving those not of legal age. I do approve of adults fantasising about their sexuality, and enjoying safe kinky play to which all parties consent. Informed, consensual non-consent is great; I abhor actual abuse.

But, sadly, those of us in minorities when it comes to our sexual predilections and preferences – such as those who are kinky – can’t always help but feel victimised when we’re attacked for our interests. Experienced in the scene as I am, the comment rather threw me, and served as a reminder of the lack of understanding – and even downright hostility – that we face from some of those in the wider vanilla world.
