Naked in the park

‎Reading the Irish Times on an Easter visit to family and friends, I noted the following item in the travel section:

As of this week, it is legal to take your clothes off in public in Munich – so long as you stick to one of six newly designated nudist zones.

“The new law formalizes a long-established practice,” the article ‎goes on to explain. Oh indeed. How I remember, as an innocent Inter-railing 18 year old, perching in the Englischer Garten for a picnic and suddenly finding a succession of stunningly-naked German lasses swimming past. I may possibly have had a repeated (unfulfilled) fantasies about tall, slim, drop-dead gorgeous Bavarian blondes ever since.

Now I realise, for the first time, that they were breaking the law. ‎Grabbed as they emerged, wet, from the water by the police. Handcuffed; led roughly away; returned in shame an hour later, sobbing and with the results of their birchings clear for all to see.

Hold on… I seem to have just corrupted one of my few vanilla fantasies. And that, of course, is entirely fine!
