Amidst lots of photos out there of whipping blocks, it’s the holes for the ankles that really did it for us with this one! A wonderful post, guaranteed to earn a place in our “best of” series.
Well, as thanks for introducing me to Robyn some time back (lotsa fun there !) I think I could do a pretty good job on this, though it would take some time. It would entertain my furtive streak to build this into other more innocuous construction works. I once wrote a piece which I lost about a nerdy woodworking guy who discovers his wifes infidelity, tracks it all in fine detail while constructing the stocks (mahogany and red leather with brass finishing studs) which he uses for her punishment…
I cant quite see the detail though…. do you think its meant to be sat on (curve accomodating bum so to speak) or to be bent over (curve accomodating belly)?
It also seems to be sprung in some way…..
The cost…… oh well, the materials, plus a photoset of the test run ??? It looks to me that it needs a rough pitch pine type of material – but sanded in the right places to prevent splinters.
There’s no way my feet would ever fit through those holes, unless there is a hinge I can’t see or the whole thing is much bigger than it looks. No spankings for me!
Actually that’s a bad thing.
Based on the directionality of the straps, I’d say the curve was to accommodate the lasses belly.
