The new academic year approaches at Universities around the country, and two of this year’s Freshers – both regular commenters here – have launched their own spanking blog. Do click over to Freshly Spanked and say hi to Smudge and Irelynn!
Perhaps that’s what inspired the following little reverie:

One fresher, one second-year girl, both reading the same subject, chatting in the student bar. Tutorial groups for the coming year were being agreed: the best academics found their sessions over-subscribed, and were thus able to be selective. The leading professor was about to interview freshers to see which he would accept into his group:
Fresher: “Was Professor Jenkins your supervisor last year?”
Older girl: “He was.”
Fresher: “You did really well, didn’t you. I’m thinking of applying to him. Is he any good?”
Older girl, blushing: “He’s… inspirational But… he’s different.”
Fresher: “In what way?”
Older girl, looking away. “He… has ways of encouraging you to do well.”
Fresher: “Such as?”
Older girl. “I can’t say. Just… just look on his wall behind his desk when you go for your interview. It’s not there just for effect.”
Cut to professorial office: piles of papers and textbooks everywhere. Our fresher is sitting being interviewed: she stares past the professor’s shoulder, transfixed. For there, hanging from a hook, was a long, thick cane…

I doubt our favourite Freshers will be quite so lucky, but we’re sending them love and good luck hugs anyway…
Oh, I don’t know, Abel– I doubt Smudge and Irelynn will make it through the year without a taste or two of the cane. Can’t say that it will prove motivational, though.
I don’t think you should tolerate their having called Haron evil, though. Really!
Lol, Indy! I’ll let Abel cane me in an encouraging way the day that dear mr. Bush announces he’s gay, getting divorced from his wife and married to Jerry Springer. Okay?

Just making sure google searches for “McCain is gay” and “Palin’s secret lesbian lover” bring folks here, too. The poor dears who search those terms obviously need some hot, comic relief from the current campaign. I suspect they’re all masochists rather than sadists, though.
Oh my, what have I done? Hehe
I just tried google too, and “I want to be spanked by Obama”, in quotes, doesn’t bring up any sites at all. That’s such a shame!
OTOH, “Palin’s secret lesbian lover” brings up quite a few sites. I thought she might be more interesting than I’d suspected, but they all seemed to be from gay rights’ groups who find her every bit as frightening as I do.
Still chucking about Bush & Jerry Springer…
LOL if we get sued for libel by Bush, Springer, McCain and Palin, I hope some of you will come and visit us in prison!
In my extreme old age I sometimes misremember stuff. But as I recall one of the great joys of heading off to University for the first time was the fun of deciding what to join at the Freshers Fair. I know I joined far too much and wasn’t able to maintain involvement in all of them. Phil Soc and the Writers Circle were just excuses for a few pints. Then there were all the sports clubs to choose from back in the days when I was fit enough to engage in that sort of thing. And of course, SpankSoc, which was a revelation. Perhaps the freshers who visit here might report on what groups they find most tempting.
Have been trying to think of which, if any of my profs I would have wanted to spank me, but I’m drawing a blank. To be honest, they were mostly too old and wrinkly. Some of them were even, *gasp*, as old as 40!
