Say hello to the Spanking Writers – and your fellow readers!

Today marks the fourth annual “Love our lurkers” day, a great little scheme coordinated by the lovely Bonnie to encourage those of you who enjoy blogs but don’t usually comment to say hello to their fellow readers.

When we’ve tried this in the past, we’ve always been touched to know how many of you out there enjoy “The Spanking Writers” – and it’d be lovely to hear from as many of you as possible. Indeed, when we started the blog (nearly four years ago), we did so for the pleasure of writing; we never expected the degree of interaction that would result with so many wonderful people, and that’s become the real joy for us of running the site.

So, if you’re reading this and have never commented before – or haven’t commented for a while – or just want to say hi to everyone else, do post a comment! We look forward to hearing from you all :-)

Hi there! I used to be a well-known name in “our world” back in the days of Usenet (bet you can still find _some_ hits about it — my name plus our shared passion — the net never forgets!-), though these days my prominence’s entirely on the open-source / professional worlds. Ah well, sic transit gloria neti!-)

Anyway, I enjoy you guys’ blog — my (2nd) marriage’s quite satisfactory, as was the first in its usenet-connected glory days, though we’re not “in the scene” any longer (age and sufficient professional success on both spouses’ sides IS liable to DO that to you — I thought I was at a professional apex back when I was 40… I was wrong!-) — so there’s no envy involved;-).

Ah well, at least, I’ve always used my real name online, so, if you’re curious, you can research it easily;-). [[Yeah, I’ve been blocked off jobs because of that — as a result, all my work has always been for the coolest firms, the one which don’t _care_ about extracurricular activities… as it happens, this is part of what’s been propelling me upwards… but then, I HAVE always been a lucky guy;-)]].

Keep on bloggin’, you great guys!-)

    Abel and Haron:

Really!? It was nearly four years ago since I began reading here? Wow! Time flies when you are having fun, doesn’t it!

It remains a great pleasure to read here, even if I don’t comment all that often. It was a lovely, safe place here to do my own de lurking three (?) years ago and so I’m taking this opportunity to thank you for your kindnesses and reconnect.

Since you are on my side of the world at the moment, I’ll send an email that might land in your inbox in the same time zone. I hope that you are enjoying Japan.

It’s been four years? No way? Strangeness. Well. Hi Everyone. I think everyone should delurk. If lots of people delurk then Abel promises that he wont spank any innocent young woman and we shall all be saved. Don’t you, Abel?

Well, I love your site and have been reading it for years. Like Scarlett, I have frequently come here as a means of distracting myself from slaving away over boring textbooks that no sane person should ever have to read – such as *ahem* now, when I should be filling out my applications to be a foreign exchange student in your fine country (though you do drive on the wrong side of the road, I mean, seriously) come springtime.

    First time poster.

Love Our Lurker day really is a terrific thing. It gives me licence to spend an evening posting my admiration for talented people writing talented things. Oh and in some cases earn deserving young souls a little extra punishment.

LOL day may just be better than Christmas

Love this blog. In some ways it’s been my ‘gateway’ to the online spanking world. When I’m too busy, shy or plain clueless to find other spanking blogs and sites, I know I can rely on you guys to keep on providing quality updates, tips and hot reading material.

Anyway, I’ve been making an effort to overcome my shyness and comment more lately – I shall endeavour to continue!

I lurk on a pretty much daily basis, so thought I’d say hello, as well as thanking you for writing such an enjoyable blog.

Will now take a deep breath and retreat back into the shadows….

You two have a permanent spot on my Google page.

You know I love you guys, even though I AM a Yankee. Perhaps that is enough to get me spanked on your side of the pond? (Pleeeeaaase)!

Anyhow, I love to read the blog, and enjoy commenting, too. Abel and Haron ROCK!

Haron and I are sitting here in Kyoto just so grateful to you all for all of the lovely comments. We so love writing the blog, and that it evidently gives so many people so much pleasure… well, that’s just wonderful.

Thanks to you all, from both of us.

Thanks for all the stimulating ideas you have posted. We are also away from home at the moment and I’m afraid my latest post is a piece of blatant plagiarism. But they do say its the sincerest form of flattery, so thanks again.

    Hey there,
Full-time lurker here – way to lazy to comment. Yeah, sorry bout that! Too busy doing…well, doesn’t matter.
    Does this count as de-lurking?
Hey so what? Love you guys, even if you do distract me from studying…am I the third person to say that???

Just to bring the comments up to 30…

I’m not a lurker, clearly – more a semi-permanent fixture, but I am missing you guys! E-mails are very nice, but not an adequate substitute for chats and cuddles and other such vanilla and not-so-vanilla r/l activities. Can’t wait to see you next month.

    Abel, Haron,

Hi, I’ve been reading your stuff on and off over the years. I don’t think I’ve ever posted a comment until now.

While you’re in Japan, are you perchance researching Japanese spanking customs. Somehow I wonder how historically accurate such sites as Spanked Cutie and Hand Spanking really are.

Still there were reports of severe caning in the book “Memoirs of a Geisha” and my impression is that Japanese culture is every bit as strict as the culture of that other island nation, England.

Look forward to reading the results of your researches.

Well, I don’t want to say I’m old but I DO remember Alex Martelli from a.s.s. AND I have put aside blogging in favor of work / life for the last week, so I guess that pegs me straight up, hm?

Anyway, I’m a rare commenter (mostly because I’m usually behind in the reading!) but I read. :)

    Cheers!
