Blogging across Japan?

Whilst we’re discussing matters Japanese: I was amused to receive a promotional email last week inviting me to “Win a blogging trip to Japan!”:

Win an exclusive trip to Japan with a companion.

To celebrate 12 successful years of presenting this enigmatic country to travellers, [we] now invite potential first-time visitors to present their own 12 reasons to go to Japan, with the winner asked to blog their way across Japan, and provide daily entries revealing the unique culture, land and soundscapes of The Land of the Rising Sun.

OK. So let’s get this straight: they want the author of a spanking blog to travel through Japan writing about his experiences? In the land of amazing uniforms, some astonishingly cute girls, geishas, often naughty manga, fabulous porn, cosplay and shibari? With a partner in tow?

Seriously: I really don’t think I should enter (even were I eligible under their ‘first-time visitor’ rule). But thoughts of the itinerary that I’d like them to lay on for me could occupy me for some not inconsiderable time…
