Picture the scene: a group of vanillas standing around the water cooler in an office one morning:

“Watched a porn movie.”
I somehow can’t imagine it. And with spankos, too, I sense a reluctance to discuss our viewing habits. We may share – sometimes surprisingly openly – all sorts of details with our kinky friends about our spanking play, fantasies and exploits. But discussing the spanking videos we’ve watched lately? It’s in my experience rather more rare.
Now, I watch plenty of spanking porn; I have a ‘porn drive’ full of my favourite movies and love (when time allows) exploring for new finds. I am totally relaxed about so doing. Hey, I used to be married to a spanking model; I’ve attended a fair few shoots – and lots of my scene friends act in and/or produce such films too.
But it does strike me that it’s almost as if watching porn retains a slight stigma – seen as something embarrassing, something polite people shouldn’t do (or, hence, discuss). I wonder what others think (and what you watch!)?
I think young people don’t mind admitting they watch porn movies. Now when you get older you are more wary and if you speak freely among people your age, you never allude to the fact when a younger generation is present. You don’t want to be branded as a dirty old man/woman.
It’s silly really, given that porn in various forms has been around for centuries. What were those erotic drawings on the excavated brothel walls of Pompeii, if not porn??
I’m happy to say I have nice, and rather large) collection of spanking videos on my hard drive as well. I just wish producers of the stuff put more passion into what they do. Let’s face it, most spanking vids are just boring garbage. But now and then you stumble upon one that is just precious.
If I was the boss of this office, those water-cooler women, would be called into my office, and given a taste of what they saw in those ‘spanko’ movies. Up with their skirts, down with their knicker’s, and a good painful caning on their bare bottoms, would they feel. So say I, and with fervant pleasure.
I don’t watch, it repulses me. But I read, I love reading. Only my best friend, and her mom for some reason, have borrowed a few of the books I have in my collection.

@Ordalie I’m one of those “young” who don’t feel embarrassed about porn movies. My partners and I watch together. Some are so contrived and quite funny! Flirting with my friends is much more erotic.
Really interesting comments: thank you for sharing. Seems like there’s a real spectrum – from happy discussing it, to being a bit shy of sharing, to actively disliking it. I’d certainly be with those who say that the written word is always the hottest!
Having been a spanking model I have no trouble admitting to fellow kinky people about my porn viewing habits. I’m also happy to hear that others have been watching my videos. However, I’ve discovered I’m extremely self conscious about watching my videos with people, or knowing they are watching them.
A few months ago a Master in my life asked me to bring Her some of my videos in advance of us doing a scene together. I had warned Her about my rather extreme reactions in advance, and She wanted to see what I was talking about. I dropped off the flash drive containing a couple of clips to Her, and nearly died of embarrassment! It’s funny the way our brains deal with these things.

I watch porn. Well actually, I watch spanking videos, play rape, torture… Shocked? :p I would never admit it to a vanilla unless they admitted first. With kinky friends I talk about the videos I watch and we suggest videos to each other. It’s fun.
