I loved the anecdote in the Times recently about an annual report by Sheffield University’s librarian in the 80s, “saying that he had two complaints from members of the university in the previous week”:
The first, from a member of academic staff that he had seen two students involved in sexual intercourse deep in the archive stacks; the other from a student, complaining of a peeping tom in those very stacks.
If I were to hazard a guess, a fair number of fetish folks would include at least a small degree of exhibitionism and/or voyeurism within their kinky interests. I wonder which you’d prefer to be – the students naughtily at it in a semi-public place, or the apparently-cross academic sneaking a peak.
And I wonder what the consequences might have been for the young lady involved, had she to be caught? (I’m imagining the security cameras showing a clear image of her face, as she lay on her back being roughly used, but the gentleman’s identity not being visible. And I’m guessing that her punishment would have been still more severe for refusing to tell the authorities his name).
